SCBWI booth at ALA
Here I am (that's me in the middle) promoting my mid-grade Holbrook: A Lizard's Tale at the SCBWI authors booth at the ALA meeting in Seattle. I'm sandwiched between authors Maureen McQuerry (left) and Randy Powell. Maureen writes poetry and non-fiction and recently published her first children's book, Wolfproof. Randy has written a number of awarding-winning books for teens, including Tribute to Another Dead Rockstar and The Whistling Toilets (which the librarians snapped up.)

Also, thanks to Jen Robinson for the link to a heart-felt and touching post by Cynthia Lord, author of the Newbery Honor book RULES, about receiving The Call.
